[AccessD] MS 365 Upgrade to Family

Maybe have a good look at what you can get from Google.

I understand that the spreadsheet app now includes links to web sites for data
extraction,
and it comes with gmail as well as gdrive and works under windows and android -
OK - I don't know about on Iphones.

Then again,
Are you looking for online use of the device(s),
or just email when you (occasionally) have a connection.

My main consideration re office is compatibility with those that I get files
from, and send to.
And the Family version - for the online storage !

Personally, I consider the 6TB of backed-up online storage worth the cost.
especially at ( sold by rather than via) Amazon prices.
Compare the cost of a pair of 6TB drives - or 6 pairs of 1TB drives.
and the expected lifetime - and remembering to backup the drive you use as the
destination for backups of your systems drive

With the added consideration - backup on Onedrive can be downloaded onto a newly
purchased system
 - after a disaster - Lightning strike, fire. flood, or just having all the IT
stuff stolen - backup drives as well.

This aggravation proved just too much, I've decided to abandon the MS suite
and begin learning the LibreOffice stuff, for starters.

I will still keep my old 2016 versions, but I think that my experience
today sort of broke the bond I thought we had.

I think that it's time to explore LibreOffice and PostGrSQL in depth.

I realize that I am a krill in their ocean of customers, but given that I'm
retired, who gives a s**t about what I think? I'm going to embark on an
intensive program studying the LibreOffice stuff, concentrating on Base
(its DBMS), but looking to see what I can duplicate in the absence of VBA.
I know that Base offers an equivalent language, so that's Step One. Then we
shall see where it goes from there.
