I didn't start the iisadmin service. I started the w3svc Starting the w3svc starts the World Wide Web Publishing Service, which is what serves up web pages. Stopping iisadmin stops all the running iis services which is what I'm after as well I don't have the need for FTP or SMTP to be running at all, so no need to start or stop them. > Look up the full names of all IIS services in services.
