[dba-Tech] Laptop should run faster

Also Typing msconfig in WinXP from Start Run will show you what services 
and programs are initialized at Startup
Read up on msconfig before disabling anything. It can be a pain to get 
things running properly again, if you turf something necessary..
You can do temporary disabling.
