Hey John, I suppose you don't need it, but when I tried to look at the 3D in MS Virtual Earth, it would not work on my Matrox, so I wound up looking at it on my laptop which does have 3D. I just feel that if your purchasing new equipment it probably doesn't cost that much more to get close to the bleeding edge, and who knows you might want it someday. For that you need 3D graphics and more memory. I'd look for a Vista compatible if I was replacing my cards.
