Never played Doom. Move the sound card from your old doomed pc to the new one. If the new one has it built in to the motherboard go into the bios and disable that. -----Original Message----- From: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Rocky Smolin - Beach Access Software Sent: Saturday, January 28, 2006 7:27 PM To: dba-tech Subject: [dba-Tech] I'm Doomed At last my PII W98 machine has died (moment of silence, please). The only thing I EVER used it for lately was to play DOOM II - the only computer game I ever play. Or like. (I tried the new one but I didn't care for it.) SO DOOM II will not run on my P3 or P4 machines and I can't figure out why, but it has something to do with the sound card. It responds really, really, slowly. There must be some way to get it to run on those boxes but I'm completely out of ideas. Anybody know how to get DOOM II running on a P4?
