Thanks, I'll turn off the firewall tonight and see if that does the trick. I have checked and I am on the correct network. The workgroup is also set up. It is a wired system though. I have other wireless systems and it can see them and they can see it. It also is able to use the Ethernet connected printer without any problem. I just used the wizards and such. Might have turned off the firewalls on both sides to get it to go, it's been a couple months since I got the Vista update loaded. Do you have a workgroup set up? You might have to set up that workgroup name on the new box. Also if you use the search for help feature on the vista system it should lead you through the settings it thinks you would need to change. I'm at the office where we don't have any Vista machines so I can't really give any more specific clues. I can check again when i get home. One other thing, might you have your Linksys set up to restricted mode and your new computer might actually be running off one of your neighbors routers?? You "SHOULD" have your router set to not just talk to anyone right? ;-) Mac address filtering and some kind of encryption are pretty much the standard security settings you would want to have turned on. On my machines I can usually see two and sometimes as many as four neighbors wireless networks. Mine doesn't usually show up as I don't have it broadcasting something or another. So I have to have a machine set up security wise to match what the router is looking for or else it doesn't show in the list of available networks. Maybe you can't see your own network because you are actually connecting to someone elses. Maybe.
