Stuart: So it sounds like if the target browser does not have my fabulous Crackhouse font there's no way that user is ever going to see my stuff displayed in Crackhouse. Yes? I'm thinking now I could somehow convert the text into a jpg and drop that onto the page. That would work, yes? Here, I think, is the code for the link. I say I think because I have no idea what I'm doing here. Just pushing buttons on the black box until I gfet the behavior I want: <!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t202" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="202" path="m,l,21600r21600,l21600,xe"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:path gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="_x0000_s1028" type="#_x0000_t202" alt="" style='position:absolute; left:21pt;top:174.75pt;width:544.5pt;height:90pt;z-index:1' filled="f" strokecolor="red"> <v:textbox> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" height="100%"> <tr> <td align="center"><a href="Knocking%20On%20Heaven's%20Door.wav"> <font size="5" color="#FFFF00"><span style="font-family: Crackhouse"> Click to h</span></font></a><a style="font-family: Crackhouse; color: #FFFF00; font-size: 18pt" href="Knocking%20On%20Heaven's%20Door.wav">ear a Track from ChuckStock I - Hit 'N' Run's Debut Performance - August 2006</a><p><font color="#FFFF00"><span style="font-family: Crackhouse"> Link may not work in all browsers.</span></font></td> </tr> </table> </v:textbox> </v:shape><![endif]--><![if !vml]><span style='mso-ignore:vglayout;position: absolute;z-index:1;left:27px;top:232px;width:732px;height:126px'><img width=732 height=126 src="index5_files/image001.gif" v:shapes="_x0000_s1028"></span><![endif]> Mean anything to you? In IE the wav file opens the player. I'm also wondering if the file can play from the web site instead of opening in real player or windows media player or whatever the target player is. I've seen sites where you can click a link to play some music and it doesn't open up in the local player. If using a non-standard font, you should specify alternates which most users are likely to have, including a final "generic" such as serif, sans-serif,cursive, fantasy or monospaced. Where none of the specified fonta are available, the Browser will use whatever has been set as the default for the above generics. These defaults can be set by the user. In Firefox, look at Tools- Content-Fonts&Colors-Advanced. > 2) I have a hyperlink to a file. The link works in IE but not > in Firefox. Does anyone know how to liven this link in Firefox. Links generally work fine in FireFox. Either there is something strange about the HTML or the PC in question has a problem handling wav files. How about posting the HTML? _______________________________________________ dba-Tech mailing list dba-Tech at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/dba-tech Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com -- No virus found in this incoming message.
