Wireshark is what I think you are thinking of. I do not know if that will help you find hardware problems, but I'm not sure. It'll come to me. They're both free, and both easy to use, although the reports in Ethereal are a little difficult to decipher sometimes. There's a LOT of traffic out there that you just don't see. Probably the easy way to track down a dodgy NIC is to unplug things on the network until it goes quiet... Then check that pc for spyware etc, it might not be the NIC causing all the traffic. Other than that, sorry, I do not know of anything. The common wisdom is that corrupted BEs is a network issue - NICS, cables, switches, routers etc. Does anyone have any experience tracking down such a problem, any recommendations for tools that would watch for intermittent network connections, troubleshooting suggestions for trying to isolate the offending piece of the puzzle?
