Any amount you add should make your system faster. Particularly if you have more than one thing open . I would try to go to a Gigabyte if you can swing it. I just ordered 2GB for my vista system to bring it to 4GB. I think it cost $40 from that Crucial site. In my case I wasn't unhappy with my current system performance but figured for $40 any speed improvement would be a good thing too. John Colby has given you some good info in his reply and since he builds his systems he is far better qualified than I on what works with what etc. I think at least 1GB is what I would try to get to if possible though.. I want to upgrade so I can run a virtual machine with Office 2003 on one and Office 2007 on the other. I don't really have any other needs -- no special software, I don't do any desktop publishing -- nothing like that. > > Recommendations? > > Susan H. > _______________________________________________ > dba-Tech mailing list > dba-Tech at databaseadvisors.com > http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/dba-tech > Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com > -- Gary Kjos garykjos at gmail.com
