Hi Jon: IE7 has a bleeding issue and if left running on your PC long enough it will eventually consume all memory and force you to reboot the system. There is no official confirmation on this subject but have confirmed that IE7 inconjunction with other application will result with this affect. I thought I was seeing things when I noticed that IE7 was using over 500mb of RAM last week, tonight it's using 1gb. I've only got 4 tabs open, and it's not like I'm running complex weather calculations in java programs or anything... Why is it doing this? I have 2gb of RAM, but when IE is using more than half of it, it starts to get a bit slow. I don't think it's anything bad, because I only reinstalled Windows at Easter, and I put on fully updated version of a firewall, antivirus and antispyware before I let it loose on the internet. I even ran it with al lthe addons disabled, and it still eats memory. I was thinking of getting more memory for the PC anyway, but that was for performance in games, not for IE! Something isn't right here...
