Tried it 3 times now - same result.

I am at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=24DA89E9-B581-47B0-
B45E-492DD6DA2971&displaylang=en#filelist

and I scrolled down and selected the one that says:

Application Compatibility Toolkit.msi

11 Mb. Size

This is correct, is it?

I suggest you download it again. I just did and it ran fine.

Jim,
I downloaded the Application Compatibility Toolkit MSI but when I try to run
it, it comes up with

This installation package could not be opened Contact the vendor to verify
it is a valid Windows Installer Package.

Here is a set of mini apps for testing your computer, checking whether it
will and the application on it, of moving up to Windows7.

Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=24DA89E9-B581-47B0-
B45E-492DD6DA2971&displaylang=en
...and...
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd562082(VS.85).aspx

Internet Explorer Compatibility Test Tool Technical Reference

Whether this is true of not, there has been some discussion around W7's use
of DRM {Digital Rights Management). Some have said that the OS will not
allow media, that it deems in violation of DRM policies, to run within it
and some have suggested that it may even go further.
