No, it's not the case.  There are a number of email programs that do not use a browser fro 
rendering, they have there own HTML engine which is purely that.  It reads the markup and 
formats the text but doesn't execute code/scripts etc under any circumstances.

Pegasus Mail is one such program.  :-)
