I guess you have run your TaskManager and checked to see what apps are sucking up the most resources? If not run taskmanager, select the Process tab, sort the tasks by CPU usage and if some program is sucking more than 30%, continuously, right-mouse click on the offending task and select 'End Process Tree'. If you then check the Performance tab and you should see a dramatic change on the graphs. You can always start your computer again and see if this operation restarts with the same issues....?
