Yep, and mebbe brilliantly nuts. In a seminar, I could make sense of 
what he was saying only by listening to his talk it as if were 
schizophrenic thought disorder (no cogent arguments, unargued leaps, 
knight's moves, flioght of ideas, word salad &c). At the end, the world 
had figured him out---his last course drew just six students.
