The company Canonical is fund raising for its new Ubuntu super smartphone.

It is using Kickstarter as a fund raiser and its committed funders have already raised almost eight million, in the first week of the one month campaign. This campaign has already far surpassed all other Kickstarter's group funded projects and if it reaches its funding goals it will be unlikely any project will ever again meet that level.

The phone will have multiple processors, at least 4GB of OS RAM and 128GB of storage and it dual boots. It supports all major 4G protocols so it will be able to be used in Europe or the USA without issues. Its battery will use Silicon Anode technology (I had never heard of this type of battery before but it is supposed to be the real deal: http://www.nexeon.co.uk/) Its case is single metal piece with Sapphire Crystal glass, its camera will support the highest level of colour accuracy and dynamic range. The phone is designed to be docked/plugged in and then it will be able to used as if it is a regular PC.

Sorry but the highest level of donations has already sold out.
