Hi Arthur If no ExpressCard port, I think you are out of options. USB 3.0 is about hardware, not software (except drivers, of course). My old HP zd8000 has an ExpressCard port, and I obtained a Sandberg ExpressCard USB 3.0 adapter, so now I can hook up a 1TB external drive and a USB 3.0 card reader and copy between these at excellent speed. Very handy. /gustav -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] På vegne af Arthur Fuller Sendt: 6. august 2013 03:07 Til: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues Emne: Re: [dba-Tech] Getting used to Windows 8 I don't think that my new box has one too. Can't have everything; o well. Two of my externadrives support USB 3.0 but the new laptop stopsilitiel at 2.0/. Bummer. Is there some way to install USB 3.0 capabilities on a laptop?
