Even giant GE is trying to get a piece of the new booming startup market by refurbishing an old warehouse, next to a university, setting it up was all the appropriate power and internet connectivity, adding easy access to seed funds and encouraging local entrepreneurs to setup shop.

As data volumes continue to grow, the go to software Hadoop, that is the de facto infrastructure technology for big data, now has a number of Startup are adding enhancements...and this is not even counting Microsoft/Hortonworks partnership which has MSs own add-on allowing support for its own enterprise product line. It seems the key to these Hadoop enhancement products is their ability to combine the ease of use of SQL/drag and drop/auto query building and the flexibility and scaling of NoSQL. Which products will emerge as the new industry standards is hard to say as the competition and diversity is fierce.

IMHO, I think I will hardly recognize the computer market in ten years, it will have changed so much.
