I sort of do that every morning in Firefox. I have a folder in my bookmarks called "Daily"
which contains a selection of websites I check out each morning - things like XKCD, Dilbert,
The Register etc.

I right click on it and select "Open In Tabs". All the bookmarks in the folder open in separate
tabs.

I use an addon called Tree Style Tab.
When I finish with the group of pages, I can right click on the Folder in the tab list amd select
"Close This Tree"
