Hi Gustav -- Well, it's "just" 6 cm wider and 9 cm lower 699.8 × 317 × 61.2 мм - DELL U2913WM 639 × 405 × 64 мм - PHILIPS 272C4QPJKAB/00 Anyway, I will first try to check how it will work with my laptop - DELL monitor is in the same shop where I have got my laptop purchased. BTW, the prices are "strange" here - a discounter shop sells PHILIPS 272C4QPJKAB/00 100+ USD (~USD600) cheaper than DELL U2913WM(~USD700), and the shop, where I have got my laptop purchased sells DELL U2913WM 100++USD (~USD570) cheaper than discounter shop, and the latter doesn't have PHILIPS 272C4QPJKAB/00 at all. -- Shamil Fri, 23 May 2014 06:35:43 +0000 from Gustav Brock <gustav at cactus.dk>: >Hi Shamil > >THAT is widescreen! > >/gustav > >Sendt fra min Nokia Lumia >________________________________ >Fra: Salakhetdinov Shamil<mailto: mcp2004 at mail.ru > >Sendt: 22-05-2014 17:42 >Til: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues<mailto: dba-tech at databaseadvisors.com > >Emne: Re: [dba-Tech] Attaching 14 Monitors on Windows 8.1 with USB > >Hi Gustav -- > >My laptop has NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics card. > >http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-650M.71887.0.html > >AFAIS it should work well with 2560 x 1440 resolution. >But I'm currently going to get purchased DELL with 2560 x 1080 screen resolution. >It's cheaper here, and I see quite some good reviews. > >Thank you. > >-- Shamil > >Thu, 22 May 2014 06:37:48 +0000 from Gustav Brock < gustav at cactus.dk >: >>Hi Shamil >> >>Yes, many things to consider. >>I don't have the specifications for your grafics card. >> >>/gustav >>________________________________ >>Fra: Salakhetdinov Shamil<mailto: mcp2004 at mail.ru > >>Sendt: 22-05-2014 00:03 >>Til: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues<mailto: dba-tech at databaseadvisors.com > >>Emne: Re: [dba-Tech] Attaching 14 Monitors on Windows 8.1 with USB >> >>Hi Gustav -- >> >>Yes, your monitor price looks comparable to the DELL one, actually Philips 272C4QPJKAB/00 is ~USD100 cheaper here than Dell UltraSharp U2913WM . >> >>As for 2560 x 1080 resolution for 29inch DELL vs. h 2560 x 1440 resolution for 27inch Philips - the latter one seems to be preferable for software development tasks? >>And Philips seems to be using two+ times less energy - 38 WATT vs. 90 WATT. >>And Philips has embedded web cam, speakers, two HDMI ports but it doesn' have USB ports.... >> >>But DELL is larger with sides ratio 21:9 vs. 16:9 for Philips... >> >>BTW, I'm planning to attach the monitor to my laptop ASUS N76VZ with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.
