There are some excellent Markdown editors, designed for people who do not what to learn how to do HTML and still need presentable web pages.

May I ask why you are editing HTML?

Would someone please recommend a free, stable html editor? I was using
Arachnaphilia, but it just stopped working -- no explanation, no errors. It
loads, it just won't do anything. I uninstalled, reinstalled... even started
from scratch with Java, which it requires. Nothing.
So, I guess I need a new one -- free is nice. I don't use it that much and
certainly not in a development environment -- just for editing html files.
Right now I'm stuck using Word, which totally sucks as an html editor.
