Hi All:
For those of you who have knowledge assembling LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) system in both a Windows (Active-Directory) and Linux network severs but wish to integrate and control an extended network with multiple operating systems, here is a extensive document on how to deploy such a network using the universal SAMBA protocol. When SAMBA was originally developed, it was used as a network printing protocol but it has evolved far beyond its initial design.
SAMBA works well on Windows networks along with Active Directory but it is capable of replacing AD all together and can manage large clustered and remote servers. Below is a full series of how to use SAMBA 4 to create an Active Directory Infrastructure.

Note: In the article it specifies a particular version(s) of Ubuntu but in reality virtual any distribution of Linux (or Windows) is just fine. Much of the documentation can be used in taking Redhat certification, if so desired.
