You might have to turn off WIFI on your phone temporarily so you
aren't connected to the router to get to the internet through the
phone without the router jumping in between.

The phone connects to the router via WIFI and is expecting that it
should have internet access through that router.  Or maybe turn the
router off and connect directly to the modem with a PC temporarily.
