Hi Tina,

I have Spectrum, and typically their modems are picky as heck, you have to
power cycle them before they pick up a new mac address for a new device.
For example, If you disconnect your router and plug in your computer
directly it won't get an address assigned until you restart your modem. So
after power cycling the modem, you should be able to just go through the
steps for the router afterwards.

Which model did you buy? I have this one:

and it was straightforward setting it up. I set it up with the companion
app without any incident.
