Hi Francisco,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I did power cycle the modem, several times,
in fact.
From all the input I've received and from my own experience and
observation, I'm coming to the conclusion that there is something wrong
with this particular router.
I'm willing to give it one more try - carefully power cycling the modem
- hooking up the router - logging into it with the laptop - checking
each setting - and trying to get it to connect - if it doesn't go
directly, calling the ISP again to ask them to do whatever it is they
said they had to do at their end to recognize the new router. And if
that all doesn't succeed, I'm looking for a different router.
Normally, I don't have any issues setting up a new router - but this one
has me baffled.
