[dba-Tech] Windows update hell

Hi Peter,

I use a pair of 2 tb HDs and swap them out weekly. Each HD is large enough to contain 6 full backups w/o compression. So I've got 12 backup sets I can use if needed. To make this work you can get a cable that plugs into the hard drive - look for a 'Neeyer SATA III Hard Drive Adapter Cable' for about $17. Or - an external HD case for each HD. I have saved all my data at one time using this arrangement.

Someday - we ALL need backups!

Good Luck!
Dan

Hi Peter

Well, then ask her to address these issues to her employer.
We can't do or suggest anything useful anyway, as you only provide moan and complain without any specific or otherwise useful info that could narrow down her issues.

As said, and I still say, my advice is to cut it short and reinstall the machine. That will work. That's what we do in the rare cases when something starts behaving too strange and obviously unintended.

Bad yes
<https://www.tomsguide.com/news/windows-10-update-disaster-microsoft-confirms-app-crashes-and-blue-screens-of-death>
and yes

"one in a million" unfortunately not, evil yes, black & hopeless not.
Whenever I've a choice, I use Linux. As explained, my wife's online work
unfortunately entails dependence on Microsoft.
