[dba-Tech] Endless chkdsk cycle

Recently I fired up my ancient HP Millenium, for the first time in months.
Upon bootup, it runs chkdsk, then tries to load Windows 7, then runs chkdsk
again, and the cycle repeats itself. I suppose I could simply buy a new
hard dusk and pay the company across the street to copy the old disk's data
to the new disk, but is there another (cheaper) way? If not, so be it; hard
disks are so inexpensive now that I could end up with a 1TB or even 2TB at
the end of the day/
