Mark, My web site is on WebHost4Life and while I like them OK, I must say that the initial response time is not the best. The way they get such low prices is hosting dozens or even hundreds of sites on a single box. If you get a lot of hits per day, then it might stay cached on their server and the response time might be OK. My site gets a few hits a week I would guess and does NOT stay cached, and can take as long as 30 seconds or a minute to get loaded and return the first page. After it is loaded, then the response times seem to be fine. John W. I am seeking a hosting solution for a project that will be SQL Server 2005 / ASP.Net based. and it will be used by three or four people 8 hours per day. At certain times of the year, (Jan - March), there will be a surge of users, maybe up to 20 or 30 per day. We will be accepting payments, so it will be a reasonably important part of my customers business. Do you think that a shared server delivers sufficient performance? I am intrigued by acheiving hosting for such small sums of money, and if it works, I would love to be able to tell my customer about how inexpensive it it. On the otherhand, if your experience is that it can be very slow, I will avoid the shared hosting and go for some form of a dedicated box, even if that is a virtual server. Thanks for any advice you or anyone else may have Mark On 23/05/07, Steve Schapel <miscellany at mvps.org> wrote: > > Jim, > > I do a lot of stuff in an account at www.webhost4life.com.
