Ahhhh I think see the issue now <Quote> run in the middle of the night and no one is logged on </Quote> So you are saying the PC workstation has been shut down for the day - Or the day to day user(s) have logged off - Is that the issue? If this is the issue - Then leaving the workstation that handles the emails in a 'logged on' state should be enough to resolve this issue - yes? Or is the issue in the following steps:- Get your access app to create the message, attach the file and then send the message? Generating the Access reports and saving them as PDF files is working. We keep running into problems in trying to e-mail these reports with Outlook. These reports are run in the middle of the night and no one is logged on so when Access 2007 initiates Outlook, we run into problems. I would guess that others have faced these issues and I am curious as to what they have done. If it is then one way might be to: Just have an access app running that periodically polls a folder - Say every hour or so it might look to see if PDF files exist in Folder XYZ - If so then have that 'polling' tool grab them as attachments and send them off Then once done the PDFs could be moved or renamed to indicate they have been 'dealt with' Make sense? I've never had the need to do this but I know others here on this list have - They may have better solutions Many thanks Darren -----Original Message----- From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Brad Marks Sent: Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:59 AM To: accessd at databaseadvisors.com Subject: [AccessD] How to send Automated E-mails from Access after hours We would like to run a number of Access 2007 reports at night and then e-mail them to select managers. Using the Windows scheduler, we can initiate Access, run the reports, and store them as PDF files. This all works nicely. We keep running into obstacles with every approach that we have tried to automate the e-mailing of these reports in an unattended environment (Terminal Services / Remote Desktop). We would prefer to use Outlook, but we are open to other approaches. We are curious how others handle this situation.
