[dba-Tech] lan node name

Thanks Jim. That the Ubuntu workstation could see the new Ubuntu server 
node as soon as it was up suggested that the problem might not originate 
in the Ubuntu server box. Sure enough, installing Samba under Ubuntu 
server made no diff. For any Win box to see the Ubuntu server box, I had 
to add an entry for the Ubuntu server box to system32/drivers/etc/hosts. 
We're still beta-testing Bill Gates's operating systems, at our own 
expense :-) .
