[dba-Tech] Microsoft confirms it's dropping Windows 8.1 support?

I got the update this week - it's nearly 1gb to download, and took a while to install... You'd know if you had it :-)

I've seen this same thing in a lot of places and it still seems very weird that they are even doing this. Every article has been confusing. Is the update 1 available already? My system claims to be 8.1 but no notice of Update 1 when I look at My Computer Information.
