Hey everyone,

Well, as you may or may not have noticed we have been having
list/server issues over the last 6-7 weeks or so.

I think we are on the mend finally!

Here is some background on what is/was/has happened.

Around the beginning of December, all the emails from
databaseadvisors.com started to be rejected by all the major email
"vendors". It was caused by many factors, which hopefully have mostly
been resolved now. There are still a couple of mitigation steps I need
to take, but I'm working on them,

One of the steps was to upgrade the server OS that the lists were
hosted on since we were running on an OS that is no longer supported.

The switch to the new server meant I had to learn a new version of
Linux and a new mail server software on the fly. Also Since the server
had a new IP address, we ran into the same problem with all the major
email "vendors" bouncing DBAs email.

While all this was going on, I lost my Mum due to Covid-19. So that
set me back some as well.

Now I've got my feet under me, barely, with the new software and OS
and the flagging of DBAs email we appear to be going in the right
direction.

There are still a few things I need to do to get the server completely
safe from the internet, so that will happen over the next little
while.

We may still experience the occasional blip of the emails being
rejected as spam, but that will become less and less frequent as more
good emails get sent through the lists and as I get the additional
changes/tweaks done.

I hope all this downtime hasn't caused you too much grief and aggravation.

So all that to say, we're back up and running, mostly. :)

As always, if you have any questions, concerns or have issues, please
let me know offlist, carbonnb at gmail.com or
listmaster at databaseadvisors.com
